Yan Li who is like to be called Rock is officially joining Kooyong United. the guy who’s probably more suitable as a body builder or a fitness instructor came to Kooyong Park on the 1st January for the gather together session and he’s continue to attend our saturday activities as well as the pre-season training.

Indonesian League award night was held at Garage Cafe, Melbourne last October. the purpose of this event is basically to officially ended the Indonesian League 2010 season by giving away the champion trophy, medals and other individual award.

Kooyong United came into this looking make up for the lost of 2nd place in the league. After starting of the group matches with a great win against the League Champions Eternal, the boys manage to grind out a very convincing win against Buffalo FC and move into the semis. There Kooyong United met Kooyong SC and won convincingly. Now a final showdown with arch rivals Buffalo is the only obstacle to the Cup trophy.

After 7 years with Kooyong United. Willy Kuncoro is heading home to Indonesia after decided to open up his own business. Before he heads home, Kooyong United has been lucky enough to have the opportunity of asking him to share his whole experience playing for Kooyong United.

Kooyong United put a convincing performance beating Kooyong SC in the semifinal round 4-0 to play Buffalos FC in the final game of Charles & Sturt cup
It was a one sided affair in this semifinal game after United’s dominate most of the possession throughout each half. Playing in the poor surface that looks like a mud doesn’t hinder United’s to play their own possession style of football.

Kooyong United is playing Buffalos at the 2nd group stage game and knowing that we will be without a proper Goalkeeper for this match, United make a last ditch effort before the closing of the transfer window by registering Noherr Thadani to goalkeeping for us. Fresh from recovering the ankle injury, the ISS Cup is just a perfect platform for him to recover his best.

The game against Leros United would mark the end of Kooyong United debut season in the Amateur Premier League morning south east division. it was a learning curve to United’s playing week in week out against tougher opponent.
The team welcome Preecha and Sebastian Berrios to the starting line up after their long absent of injuries but have to start the game without the proper Goalkeeper when Noherr and Rafiri getting lost on their way to the ground so Guruh has to fill in as Goalie and he did an awesome job by denying 3 one on one in 3 occassions.
